Expert advice to help ease Re-entry Anxiety

By Davina C.

A fatigued immune system is triggering anxiety about returning to the pace of 'normal' life.
Being able to socialise again doesn't mean having to forget self care

After one of the most challenging years in living memory: a global pandemic which turned stress, anxiety and fear into emotions at the forefront of our day to day, it's hardly surprising that the thought of returning to 'normal' is causing some anxiety. In fact data collected by market research company, Ipsos Mori, suggested that six in 10 (60%) Brits said “they are finding it harder to stay positive day-to-day compared with before the virus,” For young people, it’s even harder. According to a survey conducted by mental health charity Young Minds, 67% of over 2,000 respondents believed that the pandemic will have long-term negative effects on their mental health.

There is now a term for those suffering from some kind of negative emotions towards the end of lockdown: re-entry anxiety.

Our resident nutritionist, Ella Owen, explains: "Anxiety can take on many forms, from a sensation of butterflies in the stomach or lingering unpleasant thoughts in the mind, to a full-blown panic attack. In a stress response, the sympathetic nervous system gets activated and the body produces a cascade of hormones, namely cortisol and adrenalin. It is sometimes called a 'fight or flight' response."

There are a different ways people are experiencing re-entry anxiety.  We've come up with the best products to address these symptoms.*

Fear of what the new normal will be like

Don't forget fear and anxiety are very closely aligned. You don't tend to experience one without the other. Having had our daily routines, environments and working lives turned upside down over a sustained period of time, it is understandable that fear pervades at what a return to office life, or a hybrid work/home situation or even a new job might look like. Ella advises: "Acknowledge your feelings by talking with a friend to put things into perspective or practice meditation and mindfulness."

CBD oil has become very popular in the last few years, for good reason. This is partly due to the recent scientific discovery of the endocannabinoid system within the body. The endocannabinoid system is thought to help regulate homeostasis, in other words, it has a role in supporting the natural balance within our body and mind.

Kanabia CBD+ is a pure Golden Harvest Premium Full-Spectrum Cannabinoid Complex, delivering a full spectrum range of cannabinoids in high quality MCT oil. The MCT oil allows for fast delivery and gives Kanabia CBD+ oil a clean taste. More than just CBD, this complex benefits from the whole goodness of natural cannabinoids (such as CBD, CBG and CBD-V) found in Golden Harvest hemp (without any psychotropic effects!).

Kanabia CBD+ offers 3 strengths to choose from, as well as an enhanced formula infused with supercritical CO2 Turmeric & Rosemary extracts.

A fatigued immune system is triggering anxiety about returning to the pace of 'normal' life.

Stats also show that a surprisingly large number of people don't want to return to the fast paced life they were living pre-pandemic and this is also causing 're-entry anxiety.' It's understandable that social media pressures, crowds on the morning tube and a stressful office environment are not exactly that enticing (how did we live with it for so long?!) so any such fears can be eased acknowledging that no one is requiring you to jump back into your old life straight away. One step at a time is the best way to get your body back into a more active state: calm mind and balance energy with Nature's Answer Ashwaghandha Root.

This root extract is a potent holistically balanced, alcohol-free liquid herbal extract allowing for quicker absorption than tablets. Ashwaghandha is a powerful Ayurvedic herb traditionally used to help the body adapt to situations of stress - environmental, physical and mental - therefore the ideal support for anyone feeling 're-entry' anxiety symptoms.

Being able to socialise again doesn't mean having to forget self care
