Organic Traditions Premium Matcha is a Certified Organic full-bodied green tea ideal for daily use, as well as all culinary and smoothie applications. Matcha is the most concentrated green tea in the world. Traditionally used in the daily diet, in medicinal preparations and for ceremonial purposes, Matcha has been considered the most revered green tea in the world. It is said that Zen Buddist Monks consumed Matcha for facilitating meditation, health and longevity. There are many grades of Matcha. Lower, less expensive grades of Matcha are prepared using hot pressure processing that destroys the delicate compounds, creating oxidation and consequently a lower quality Matcha. Some lower grades pulverize the stems with the leaves, creating a bitter taste and a yellow-green colour. Organic Traditions Premium Matcha comes from tencha leaves collected after the spring harvest creating a richer, more full bodied green tea taste. It is 100% pure organic Matcha, free from added flavours, sweeteners, fillers, preservatives or excipients. To make a delicious uplifting tea, whisk ½ to 1 tsp. of Matcha in a small amount of warm water (60 ml) to make a smooth paste. Add more water (120-180 ml) and one tsp. of Organic Traditions Yacon Syrup to sweeten. Make exotic beverages or add to smoothies, desserts and your favourite recipes.
